Off to France on Sunday night.
As we normally do is to switch the fridge (via electric) on about 24hours before start putting items in it. The fridge is only just on freezing , it normally goes down to minus 10. But as stated only going down just freezing. Now changed it over to gas to what will happen!
Any suggestions!

Have you got a setting different to normal?

When you say fridge I assume you mean freezer... a fridge should not be at minus 10.
Where you getting your temp readings from??

er .... it'll get or stay cold.
So on ehu it only goes down to 0c ? how long have you left it on, I'd have thought it'd easily get to -15 in the freezer with an ambient of 20c

Thanks for your replies.

1. Fridge/freezer set as normal on max
2. Temperature gauge resting in the freezer department
3. just recently switched from electric to gas
normally goes down to about minus 10. Had the fridge on for about twelve hours before putting items in the freezer department

Dodgy temp gauge???
I have one in my freezer compartment and also in fridge.(dometic twin door fridge/freezer)
Freezer normally -15 to-20 And fridge 3 to 5.

It may be more efficient on gas, but 0c in the freezer after being on for 12 hours is less than impressive.
Might be worth checking the door seals, after that I'd look at replacing the thermal transfer paste behind the aluminium plate with fins on.

That’s what you would normally expect from a fridge freezer yes 👍
Now try and see what Dometic say ⚠️
Our fridge freezer in a brand new van was pretty much next to useless, so dealers do an extended test as required by Dometic with recorded temperatures.
I don’t remember exactly the temperatures that are within their tolerance but it’s something like 8° for the fridge and -10 for the freezer ⚠️
So we had a seriously expensive cool box with melted ice cream unlike our friends 20 year old van with frozen ice lollies ☹️⚠️

Ours is a Dometic RMD 8500 twin door fridge freezer. 7yrs old and always at correct temps. Absolutely no issues with it
However I except those that venture to sunnier climes may not be happy with it.
But in UK it does what it says on the tin 🤣🤣
