My Dometic fridge freezer has decided to play up today.
Currently near Krakow in Poland and it just loses all power and turns off.
If I press the motor home control panel and turn all 12v power off and back on then the fridge powers back up.
It has cut out on auto driving along when it was on battery setting. Tonight I have had it running on the gas setting and the same thing.
Temperature has been 27C today and if this carries on I will lose all my stuff in the freezer.
I have checked the EBL fuse but that’s OK and obviously the fuse must work as it powers back up.
Any suggestions would be greatfully received.
Why do these things happen when you have a language barrier.
Thanks
Graham

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Sounds like the main PCB playing up a common fault with them is where are between the fridge & freezer they sometimes suffer from condensation on the circuit board.
Worth taking it out and drying hair dryer or your heater.
If that cures it when you get home spay it with tropiclising varnish.

Update
Googled Dometic Service Agents in Poland and it came up with Center Camp in Bierun which was 11km from our overnight park up.Pulled in at 11am and fortunately the chap on the desk spoke good English.
Explained the problem and he said to wait a minute.
He came back and said please drive to the workshop at the rear of the building.
His colleague came out with a multi meter and removed the lower vent and started checking.
They had me starting and stopping the engine whilst they checked everything. 20 minutes later they had diagnosed a faulty 12v heater element. They explained they didn’t have the 170w one fitted to my van but they would try and get it.
They took us inside and offered us coffee and said just relax.
Meanwhile they tested it with a lower wattage one to make sure.
Suddenly all power off again ( which was the symptoms we had experienced). They then discovered the ribbon connector from the front panel to the rear pcb had chaffed and was also causing intermittent problems.
Once again they said don’t worry go and have a coffee.
30 minutes later a chap arrived with the correct 12v heating element.
One hour later everything up and running ad all put back together.
Went in to pay and was asked whether cash or card.We raked all our cash together and had 290 zloty which was about £60.
He said that will cover the labour and the new ribbon and heater came to £65 for the parts which he put on card.
All in all to walk in off the street have the work carried out immediately and £125 was one heck of a result.
Stunning service 👍

Not the first time I’ve read about this sort of service abroad.
How come it can happen abroad but try and get anything done in the UK.
Where has it all gone wrong?
