Advice Please
Need to leave MoHo in storage for 10 days, can’t find a storage with EHU.
Got Two refillable gas cylinder (11kg?) with Manual exchange. Dometic fridge/freezer RMD8555 that will have lots of food in it.
I am worry that one cylinder of gas will last for 10 days of fridge use - Opinions please.
Is there an option to leave the two cylinders open same time, to keep the fridge tuning longer on the gas.
Many Thanks.

Our 6kg cylinders last about 2 weeks each so you'll be ok just switch to the full cylinder when you park up 👍

You'd also better check the storage site will permit you to leave the gas turned on when the motorhome is "unattended". A lot don't.

We have a Thetford fridge freezer but a single 11 kg gas would last about 3 weeks for fridge plus hot water boiler plus cooking off grid. I would be very surprised if a full one ran out in 10 days. I seem to recall that fridges actually use less energy full than empty. Why do you need to leave it full?

By coincidence i was looking at the spec of the RMD 8555 (dont ask ) the other day and sure it stated usage on gas is approx 460gm per 24 hours.. So 460 x 10 = 4600.. 4.6kg so i guess ok on 1 bottle..

I once got three weeks from a 6kg bottle in the summer in France.

But you can also get auto switch over valves so I can/could use both bottles if required.

Or if like me you have both bottles connected but change over manually by turning on or off at the bottle you could just leave both open and it would use both. However one should be plenty for 10 days especially if youre not opening the door.

Thank You All.
Always quick & good advices in this forums.
