Fridge not working on power

Do you mean it's not working at all on mains? Or just not getting cold enough?

It's not unusual for fridges to be less effective on mains than gas. With the current temperatures, you might find it's not coping. Trying to keep the outside vents in shade can help. But you might find you need to install some fans to improve the efficiency of the cooling.

Try removing the bottom vent to get more airflow over the cooling fins and try turning your fridge temperature controller down a notch as thinking that turning it up 9 times out of ten makes it worse.
