After five years i think i have the solution to keeping your / my fridge cool.
1. Works better on gas
2. Move stuff away from fins at rear of fridge and more so freezer.
3. Remove top vent cover
4. Keep fans running permanently. (If have them )
This system is keeping freezer frozen and fridge cold.
Works for me . Not bothered if you disagree just my system. Try if you want to.

We make sure the vents are clean and fans are running permanently and know where everything is in the fridge so the door is kept open the shortest time possible.
Was 34deg in Peterborough and the freezer stayed lower than -15
Does use a lot more gas in hot weather.

Ditto the freezer keep it cold we leave freezer blocks in it all the time but leave a bit of space for the cold air to circulate.

To any newbies - take the fridge covers off in warm weather or the fridge/freezer won’t cool. Unfortunately our dealer didn’t tell us this and when summer came we thought we had a problem - dealer was 250 miles away and after calling them all they could advise was bring it down (500 mile round trip at 26mpg??) so called local camper fridge repair guy who came out, and guessed the solution near enough straight away - still cost me £35 call out :(

Compressor fridges seem to work better than absorption types in hot ambient conditions but I still have extra fans thermostatically controlled to help the circulation over the radiator (condenser).

In hot weather late at night, when I've relieved the fridge of all its beer, cola, sprite, fanta etc I always refill the fridge before going to bed, that way the fridge gets to do it's hardest work at the coolest time of the day when nobody is opening the fridge door every 5 minutes. That way I can have ice cold beer for breakfast ;)
