If it's a Dometic unit, there should be a label like this inside the fridge area which will help things along ?

Look at the fitments.............because of prices and delivery times for the "correct one" I connected the internal wires to a 3W led from Ebay.....bit of a bodge but hey it's inside the fridge and cheaply and easily replaceable

If its only 3 months old I doubt it will be a bulb, most fridges now have an LED mounted on a PCB and I expect you will need a new PCB.

I don't think the van is three months old, they've had it three months.
If it was three months I'm sure it would be warranty

ours is a 2014 van the whole unit needs replacing, cant just change the bulb, last time I looked it was just short of £100 and unavailable. I manage without it, is only a pain at night.

I believe Sue Coulson's fridge is a Dometic RM7601L (from a previous post about a problem)
That's an obsolete model that Dometic don't cary spares for.

Can you post a link to the led you used. 👍
the type I used was a "G4" 12v, here is an ebay item number 274169293641
, but there are a lot more available, good luck, if I get the time later I'll take a piccy of the light now

looking at the post above you can get 12v led strips as well now that are quite good

Thanks mate. Unfortunately it’s a different fitting to mine. Mine is a funny size fuse shape. I have changed all the other in the van and can’t find a version for the fridge. ThanKs for posting the one that works on yours. 👍😷🥃

I did have to do a certain amount of modification, I'll take a piccy and you'll see what I've done
you'll see the central hole, that is where the halogen lamp fitted, all I did was soldered the two led's onto the rails where the halogen came off, hope that this helps

Love the idea of an led strip where did you take the power from? Or can you get a battery operated one, don’t think that would be a good idea inside a fridge though.

I fitted a little transformer I had but the little plug-in universal adapters would be fine for mains.
In the van 12v is everywhere 👌

Was just going to ask where it said 3 months old....

In van for 3 monthd
If the bulb was 3 months old the op must have got it from somewhere and knows what kind of bulb to know how old it was.
I think they mean they have had the van 3 months.

They are vehicle dashboard instrument illumination bulbs. You should be able to find replacements on eBay (including LED replacements) using "dashboard instrument bulbs" as the search term.

If you've a good electrical store, such as RS Components, nearby take it to them. In the past they've helped with a couple of somewhat obscure electrical bits - even just gave me one when the storeman discovered he had a full box of 30 when his computer said he only had 7!

Learned long ago not to go to a dealer, just rip-off merchants IMV.

Except the bulbs go into the PCB Tony, whereas in the fridge, it's the bulb holder which twists into the board, ie, the wing type connections are reversed.

Did you ever get your fridge bulb issue sorted Sue?

I am struggling with the same issue. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)
