Fresh water tank empty? (1 Viewer)

Hi again

We have a Dethleffs Trend. I have no idea how to empty the fresh water tank so I can refill it with all fresh water. Has anyone got one of these or similar beasts?

You could just leave the grey waste tank open and run a tap to empty the fresh.

We can also empty ours by using the safety valve for the boiler.

Our Globecar was built by Dethleffs and we have a wheele head valve ( gate valve ) above the fresh water tank under a flush fit cover, you just open the gate valve and water drains.

I run mine through the grey waste tank. Thus giving the grey waste tank a flush out.

My tank has a plug in the bottom of it, unscrew the big red cap and directly below it is a drain plug same on my grey tank, the grey tank also has a hose and tap if can't position the van over a drain

Is there any problem with running the water pump for a long period, long enough to empty the full tank? Because of our payload, I am going to have to ensure it is empty before each trip. There is a drain valve, but it is awkward to get to. I like the idea of running all three taps and rinsing through the grey tank.

I have run off over 100 litres of fresh water and didn't have any problems. I did find that opening more than one tap didn't make it any quicker.

I have a Knaus... it has taps to empty both grey and fresh... yours will have too... shirley!..
