One thing that I would note is that the application seems to be for a specific purpose ie rock climbing and evidence of pre booked campsites which many motorhomers would not like.

good article, i will be continuing with my application, that i started some considerable time ago, in the near future. On my initial contact with TLS i asked about specifically travelling in a motorhome and making use of Aires, with no set travel arrangements. Initially they didnt know, as the question had never been asked previously. After a rew weeks i contacted them again and was told it wouldnt be an issue and so long as we had everything else in place. motor insurance and ownership documents, health insurance, BOOKED arrival and departure dates, proof of income and bank statements. i pointed out to them that i had (at the time) a Eurotunnel wallet of 10 journeys which they said they were happy to accept as proof of not intending to 'overstay;, even though there were no specific dates booked. The option now i suppose would be to book eurotunnel and then ammend the bookings to suit (would help when they start to reissue FT wallets later in the year)

The lady i spoke to was called Svetlana, she spoke perfect english and was really helpful.

You could book a campsite for 180 days. Get the Visa. Then cancel the campsite. Could you?

Quite possibly but it may be risky if stopped and checked in a different area especially if wanting to repeat the process.

True. But I can't honestly see it being effectively policed.

hi guys . this could be good news for some personally we find 3 months is long enough to be away from home .we love touring & love our bungalow so we have best of both worlds . interdentally bill read somewhere that the 27 eu members can come to the uk for 6 months so that was NOT on a level playing field was it when they signed off the b word deal . val . P.S off now to do some ironing :frowny:

just because the visa allows 180 days in a set 180 day period, you dont have to use ALL 180 days!! it allows so much more flexibility for example (and its only an example) - jan, feb, march 'away' for the winter sun, then back to Uk for a month then back out for may, june- after that then you can return to the uk and then go back out for your schengen travel !

Svetlana explained that you MUST leave the Schengen zone before the 6 month visa expires and cannot just rely on then utilising the 90/180, They must be recorded as two separate entities.

there are several you tubers currently hopping in and out of the schengen zone, i dont understand why they didnt just apply for a vistor visa, then utilise the 90/180 -

i wonder if they could have used 90/180 then left and returned on a visitor visa, then left again and then returned on another 90/180??
