French Passion,Calais to Bordeaux, favourite Winery stops

On the no toll route Calais,pointers to Bordeaux what are the unmissable vineyards to stop at?

Tbh, I found it way too broad a question to answer - maybe just try some, because surely half the pleasure of FP hosts is the element of surprise? Having said all of which, assuming you have registered with the FP app, there are reviews available (albeit mostly in French.)

One of our favourite FPs is just outside Cognac - a lovely little distillerie on with a large grass parking area next to the Charente river: Distillerie Des 3 Moulins Neither of us like Cognac, but their Pineau de Charentes is rather nice, and they do a good value vin de pays too We try go there every year (though probably won't make it this year).

Another place we've stopped at up near Poitiers is Domaine De La Roussille - its not somewhere we make a point of returning to (unlike the place near Cognac), but it was nice and I'd not hesitate to stay there again if it was in the right area for us.

Apart from which there are plenty of vineyards you can stay at without FP.

Aigrefeuille D'Aunis - what a cracking park up for anyone heading down west coast of France.

I found it on All The Aires, but it's obviously on most apps. The Aire is a free Aire adjacent to the Lac Du Grace. Set in a wooded area 100m from the lake itself. The lake has fishing and I assume boating in the summer. Toilets are clean and facilities for waste and water. It's the type of free...

We stayed overnight here outside St Emilion last October. Not sure if part of FP or not, but a very nice spot.
