I have been recently looking at the spec of a MH with a Tec fridge and oven on top. The oven has no grill.

We do not use campsites and EHU, so how does one grill steaks, chops etc., or brown tops of other dishes?

Is there such a thing as a free-standing gas grill? Not BBQ.

Does it have a gas hob?

Don't know how much cooking you do Geoff, but most pan cooked foodstuff will brown in a pan, as for browning on the top, like cheese topped or similar toppings or coatings, you can use a Kitchen blowtorch...this adds to the taste and appearance......yes you might see me on masterchef this year..:giggle:

Another vote for a blowtorch - but get a proper mapp gas one if you don't want to be there forever.

The little 'gas lighter fluid' ones are OK if you're doing two crème brulées and have the advantage of being cheaper, smaller and easily refillable but they're a faff for anything like a large surface.

Yes! You can buy a propane salamander (catering term for grill) but make sure you're sitting down when you see the price :D

For example, the 'small' 800mm Lincat OG8301/P

I have to say that I bought a Voyager cooker with oven and grill for the last van and barely ever used them.

We have a single ring gas hob that we use for cooking outside and a ridged griddle pan for searing steaks etc. Can use pan on gas hob if weather is inclement.

Depending on what you're cooking a Ridge Monkey comes in handy on the hob.
We take microwaved jacket potatoes and crisp them up by flipping a few times.

This would be my thought too

Except for fishplug most answers so far have been recommendations using conduction heat, not radiation heat, as in grilling, for steaks, chops etc.
Yes, but the same end result can be achieved by a judicious combination of dry frying (or griddling), oven cooking and flame (chefs blowtorch)

The most sensible option would probably be to remove the existing oven and replace it with something like the Thetford Duplex oven and grill or the CAN FO5010.

These would have the benefit of not taking up any additional space.

If you have a combined hob/oven at the moment then there are other 'all in one' options that also include a grill.

I'm guessing my old Voyager would be too small for you as it's only got a two burner hob which is fine in a PVC but you'd probably want something bigger in an A Class.

It's available if it's of interest though.

The MH in question had a fridge with a simple oven on top- surely no room to replace with a Duplex or similar?

Outside of my experience I'm afraid. Just bouncing ideas around.

Seemed logical to me to try to find something with an integrated grill that could be swapped out rather than try to find space for another appliance. No idea if that's possible, or desirable. Just how my mind works.
