Are they from cars ?
If so they are different from what is used in a motorhome scenario as the pick up tube inside the tank is in a different place
Cars use the liquid gas and has the take off at the bottom while we use the gas as vapour and the take off is at the top of the cylinder

Fork lifts are liquid take off
Are you certain? Generators and other small engined appliances are vapour take off but I don't know about fork lifts. Either way it's only a change of pick-up that's needed (or a careful bend to move the existing pick-up to the top).

Forklifts are definitely liquid take off. If you look on the bottom of a lpg exchange tank they have an arrow pointing to where the bottom should be and that is why they are always laid side down as well.
You could you those tanks and just remove the pick up from inside, but would have them pressure tested as well.

I am about 2 mile from m6 jct 10
