I’m changing my MoHo insurance but note that some insurers only cover up to £600 for windscreen cover. I’m not sure this is enough, so....

Q. How much does it cost for a Ford (Mk8) windscreen replacement?

An awful lot less than an a class!!! If it's heated I wouldn't be surprised if its getting on for that if not I would have thought it would be covered. If it's more do you just pay the extra plus the excess?. You could probably get a quote online I suggest using an incognito setting so you don't get endless spam.
Given how often I've needed a new screen it wouldn't bother me.

As a matter of interest do you go for a higher voluntary excess and lower premium or are you an I want it all covered person?

Over 20y ago I chose Third Party F&T for my Renault Trafic, thus saving £20. Then the windscreen broke en route to France. Replacement in the land of origin(?) was very expensive.!

Back in Norwich I was quoted £325 for a replacement until I said it wasn't an insurance job and the cost fell to £145.

I haven't used TPFT since!

Approx 4y ago I did take out insurance over the phone with AdrianFlux only to discover windscreen cover was limited to £1500. When I inquired about raising it I was told that it wasn't possible. So I cancelled the policy (approx 2h after starting it) and they wanted to keep £25 admin fee. I argued that as I hadn't been told about that limit (nor the need for 2 fire extinguishers plus an annual gas-safety check) then they had mis-sold it to me and eventually I got a full refund.

That year SAGA paid out £2997.95 to replace my screen! (Aclass).

At £3k a windscreen Im surprised the premiums for A-classes aren't sky high!!

If you have a panorama roof light then check you are insured for it.
The Autoglass man said he has shocked many a zafira owner by telling them that it’s not covered. As a norm.

I would think £600 would not cover a C class motorhome wind screen. Most motorhome policies cover up to £3000 and a few are unlimited. In the OP is the insurer a LV ( highway ) policy.

the wind screen scam get the codes off the wind screen if it's A class it probably of a truck a frend of mine broke his windscreen on his hymer he traced the nos and sourced one him self off a scrap truck £150 then had a Mobil fitter fit it another £150
total cost £300
the manufacturers of motorhomes don't have wind screens made specially thay just buy them in
bill

Very true. My old Hymer's was the same as a Mercedes truck - just fitted upside down.

His vehical was off the rode at the time on a sorn stupidly not insured and was quoted stupid money for replacement so had to get one himself
bill
It goes on all the time. I remember years ago ford capris had the same headlamp units as some BMWs but the BMW ones were double the cost!
