One for the Yachties on here.
I posted on here in January that my partner Jan's son Simon Russell, AKA 'Fumesy', had passed away through Covid. He was a world class sailor, and won Cowes Week Overall three times, so we thought it appropriate to crowd fund a new racing buoy. It has just been placed at the top of the Solent race course, and we (hundreds of us, apparently) are going to a ceremonial scattering of his ashes at this buoy on 29th July, and then a wake at the Royal Southern Yacht Club.
It's gonna be one hell of a day!
