I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of a foot aperture. Can you explain what it is please?

We had a Transit that had a foot step at each side, at the front, below the bonnet

Glenn, just been reading on MHF "What do you clean your windscreen with". Foot apertures are mentioned on page 2, and I thought are those the holes for fog lamps or have I missed something, or am I having a doh moment:rolleyes:

Ahh. The steps in the bumper. I don’t think the ones on mine are strong enough to stand in. It’s only a plastic bumper. I just stand on top of the wheel to clean the screen.

The Ford ones even have a metal plate in-built, they are certainly designed to stand on !

I had a pair of the apertures in the front bumper of my VW LT35 LWB HR white van. Useful for cleaning the roof over the cab, to give an impression that everything was clean externally, but slightly precarious maintaining a hand hold and swinging an extending van wash brush concurrently ... More than one unscheduled descent made under a panoply of soap bubbles and warm water ... :ROFLMAO:

I do the same Glenn, stand on the wheels, but, the holes there are they actually made for standing on. I weigh in at an astounding 10stone 7lbs, was around 12stone about a year back shows what CKD can do for one huh,.

I’ve just been and had a look. They are definitely stronger than I thought. I am now thinking about cutting some of the sticky backed emery paper stuff I got for the side steps to put in. It should make it less slippery.

When I read the title, I took it to be referring to shoes!

Andy same as mine, although mine is a Peugeot. It does not look very strong to hold much weight though. So if I try it and it breaks can I come back to you and ask if you would reimburse me the cost::bigsmile:.

Being a 5"6" tall midget:blusher: I use a step ladder to gain access to the top of the wheel, then use my swizzle arms to clean the screen and the underside of the cab cover:ROFLMAO:

I’m a 6’3” weight lifter and it can take my weight, so if yours fails it must be because it’s rubbish French stuff not Italian quality.

Hahaha 😂😂😂😂😂

The foot hole is just above the front crash beam I think from memory, although I have used it, I still find it easier to stand on top of the front tyres.

On my old van, I always just stood on the tyre and tried not to pull the wing mirrors off! Too late, now, I'm in the process of swapping it for an a-class.

Just washed Brunhilde for the first time. The Foot Apertures look to be decorative rather than load bearing, so used the wee twin step decorating stepladder and S-T-R-E-T-C-H with the soap laden squeegee. Having only on street parking on the A921 made cleaning the road facing side an interesting experience. I couldn't tell you what colour adrenalin is; but I CAN tell you what colour it isn't ...

As stated the Ford Transit ones are built in to the front chassis rail & infilled with stainless steel base plates punched upwards that give great grip. They need to as the bonnet slopes back steeply & if they didn't as you lean forward the bonnet would take your legs out- Mine are covered now by the bull bar tubing.

Andy the fronts are moulded in either Italy or France, take your pick :giggle:

I used to be a weight lifter, I used to lift 5lb bags of potatoes, done that for months, then I was told to fill the bags with potatoes :roflmto::roflmto::roflmto:
