Hi is there a good, easily accessible supermarket when you get off the ferry in Bilbao, we are going to stay Haro four nights en route to the south

Try Google Maps ..

You can then take the little man and dump him at the entrance to the supermarket. Lidl is always a good bet.

We left Haro last week ...there is a new Lidl on the edge of Haro just a few minutes from the site . It's closed in Sundays though

Bilbao has multi motorways on the exit from the port, we struggled to get to supermarkets. Would suggest using first magor town on route.

Thank you Jim that’s what I thought so probably better to go to the Lidl near Camping de Haro where we’ll be staying

There is plenty of space at Lidl Haro.....just drive in and out slowly as the carpark is up a short ramp...we are 7m and no prblems...

I like the Supermarkets that have a hight barrier on the way out or the car parks where you finish up in a dead end with no way of turning round.

Found a couple of those in France. But plenty of cars seemed to be driving out the entrance as it was a shorter route, so we just copied them.

Its Lidl,,lots of room for any motorhome. BUSBY.

I prefer the little site at Navarette to Haro.

I can’t speak about shopping as it’s not my department.

I drove round the centre of Bilbao in pouring rain, trying to find 3 Lidls which were on my satnav but didn't exist (as far as I could discover).

We eventually left the city (not easy with nowhere to stop and reset the satnav) and ended up at a Lidl (I think) just off the motorway towards the port. This involved going through a low but wide tunnel, which had me hoping the height notices were correct. Then the carpark was full and no room to turn around, so we had to reverse out. However, the joys of holidays is that we look back and laugh.

The next day we found an Aldi (?) near a huge commercial park but, again, it wasn't quite where TomTom thought it should be. Fortunately we spotted it alongside a 5-lane highway and reached it by doing some "right-right-right" turns. We couldn't decide if parking was free on the street outside, so MrsR stayed with the van while I stocked up. As I left the store I spotted a dedicated shoppers-parking areas plus a traffic warden walking towards the MH.

All's well that ends well - Gordon

There's a very big Carrefour at Sestao, easily accessible from the A-8. We always stock up with Spanish specialities and booze there on the way home.
