Fitting and using a Gaslow gauge on my propane bottle

I assume it is just a pressure guage. If it is it will always show the same pressure until nearly empty. Always have something on that you know is using gas, ie hob, then check reading. It will also change with temperature, high on a hot day, low on a cols day.
As mitzimad@ says, dont bother.'

dont bother they are wildly inaccurate
If you watched the Vlog I did state they are no good for level checking. This is purely for leak testing which they are very good for

As i said only using for gas leak test

Yes you are right in that it can h4elp confirm a leak in the system after the bottle. I admit I did not read the Vlog, sorry for my irrelevant post.

I have one which is an integral/standard fitting in my Gaslow/Calor system and it does exactly that.

no worries i understand these are not so good at level checks

Interesting comments about Gaslow guages. I emailed them about slow filling of my bottle and this was their response.

'Please note that cooking for 2 weeks will use very little cylinder contents. Please use your cylinder contents down until the gauge goes into the Yellow. Our gauges are extremely accurate so please rely on them.'

Kind regards

We use ours just to give some idea of what's in the tanks. But they won't indicate if there are any leaks.use your nose and leak detector spray.

Yes, good for leak detection. I check the gauge everytime I open the gas locker.

I've noticed that after several refills in Europe, the pressure reduces on the gauge because of the butune/propane mix used in EU. It's a good reminder to refill in UK where the propane content is close to 100% propane.

extremely accurate on the last 2 per cent of the bottle

Don’t forget to turn off the bottles when you refill.

I don’t check them very often as I work on using one bottle til empty then switch to second but my Gaslow bottle gauges seem reasonably correct

Not bragging but ours does this automatically and it flags up on the Truma control which bottle you are using - very useful.

I didn’t want the auto change over, I just wanted to know when I had used one bottle so I can start looking out to refill. I know a lot of folk prefer the auto changeover though.
