Hi All, my motorhome has a Schauld EBL Control unit fitted and i want to fit a dual output regulator. I believe i can wire it direct to the EBL. The schematic drawing i have is in French, can anyone tell be which terminal i can connect the extra wires from the regulator so that the vehicle battery will get a trickle charge. I suppose the earth can be picked up from the exist regulator that i will be replacing

The 3 big wires on the ebl for battery are both batteries -ve together and +ve for both batteries are the other two

Hi, I believe the red is for vehicle battery, black for habitation and brown for negative, is that correct

correct, have just done what you are doing

Brown is neg for both batteries

You don't say which EBL but the standard connections for the solar input on the front of the EBL is, Pin 1 Negative, Pin 2 Starter battery, Pin 3 Leisure battery.

The EBL271 is wired like this, but not all EBLs are. You need to add a fuse in the 'Solar' slot to connect Pin 3 to the Leisure battery. 20A is suitable.

Just looked at my EBL and on block 2 there is no wire imputed in the central slot, can i assume that when I fit the dual regulator that the positive wire for the starter battery from the regulator goes in this centre terminal

i dont know the ebl 271 but on my ebl the center connector is for cab battery

In case you don't know, the Block 2 connector is a 3-way MNL (Mate'N'Lok) connector. These connectors have separate crimp-on pins/receptacles that push into the connector shell. A couple of barbs grip the shell and hold the pin in place. If you want to add a connection to pin 2, all you need is a crimp-on pin terminal.

You can get the pins separately, but depending on the supplier's minimum quantity it may be cheaper to just buy a 2-way connector pair complete with pins/receptacles.
