Had five weeks in France without the van in April/March. Had mixed weather but, on balance, had a great time. Returned on 27 April and drove from the Tunnel to Bristol to visit SiL then home to York. As soon as we got home, we both started with flu-like symptoms and then tested positive for Covid.
Now, after isolation for 10 days and both testing negative, we have planned to go to Filey for a couple of nights in the van. Not too far but hopefully still nice just to be away. Will be the first trip since having new tyres fitted (Agilis Cross Climates). Today I went to the van and checked the tyre pressures were right and all’s now prepared.

Not sure about our site as we’ve never taken the van to Filey before but it seems fairly good value at £41 for two nights including 10amp hook-up. Fingers’ crossed.🤞

Very easy hour long drive to Filey Brigg. Very pleasantly surprised. Large, green site very close to the sea and town. Plenty of motorhomes and some caravans. Ablution blocks very clean and plentiful.
Braved a hostile looking seagull to have a portion of chips. Will have a fish supper tomorrow and then the five minute walk back along the beach to the site.
Definitely recommend Filey Brigg for a short stay.
Edit: café at site entrance looked promising but hours are 8:00-15:00 and closed Wednesday and Thursday. So we will miss the chance to spend on ices. 😢

Last night a bit windy (the weather not a description of Mrs Ingwe’s tummy) but mild and some sun between showers.
Short non-beach walk into Filey for one of each for lunch at Ingrams. Were the last to be admitted at 2 p.m. Didn’t intend to have such a close call! Yummy small haddock (at the bottom, Mrs Ingwe at the top🙂).

Fellow wrinklies playing chicken in the ravine road.😱😆
