A chappy buys his brand new 2020 van in April and then immediately sticks it in his own storage garage until the CV19 restrictions are lifted.

The first night out in the rain and this happens; talk about having wet dreams.

What a disappointment. I take it you didn't forget to close the skylight what makes that?

Oh I feel your pain. Not good is it from a new van. What make/model is it?

Strewth!!

That's awful - poor you. :frowny:

No, not me, thankfully, but a member of the Autotrail Unhappy Owners Club.

There's new stuff coming up every day now that the lockdown has been lifted and the folk can start using/testing their new vans.

I thought that the new ranges were basically rebadged Chausson benimar etc. Just why can't they turn them out?

But nothing will change. The “reviews” in the moho mags won’t even mention it. There’ll be nowt about it in the CMC or CCC monthly magazines. The same cozy “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” carries on. The dealers will keep selling them, the great British public won’t know.

Sad,but true.

Straight back to the dealer with an unfit for purpose and money back please Luxury Goods Act applies! Unable to test before due to Govt restrictions and kept under cover, Refund please or court action, makes you wonder about the rest of the build quality! However if you like it and are willing to get it repaired with a suitable contribution from the dealer for your inconvenience then go ahead................Then sell it!

That's devastating! I hope it's quickly sorted out to his satisfaction.

Hells bells.... surely word of mouth must be working by now warning people to steer clear of the brand until something is done about build quality....
Having said that we had a lifting floor in our german built van on a 65 plate just 2 years after 1st registration and water ingress was the main suspect but no damp readings above 14% anywhere we could find. Traded it in and dealer didn't even comment said A1

Joy, If they did join Fun I think we would all tell em to reject the van, hopefully rejection period would have been extended to reflect the Covid lock down rules, especially if they were in the vulnerable category i.e locked down to Aug 1st.
Its difficult to see where the water would come in from pictures of The F70, other than the roof trims as the back roof is rounded down into the rear panel by 300mm or so.
The models vary though some have a window at the back, the one pictured below even has a cat flap!
Hope they get it rejected and replaced. heartbreaking for any new owner.

Can you let them know that we're all feeling their disappointment. :(

Can you get them to join this forum? I'm sure they would get loads of advice.

There's a lady on the Unhappy Autotrail Forum Joy who helps owners reject their vehicles. She has helped with c.20 new van rejections from what I recall - a very knowledgeable person indeed.

However, it's sad that we need people like this in the first place eh.

Yes, a very good point. It's quite sickening when you read the crap that goes into some of these MMM and CAMC mags.

Dreadful. Absolutely dreadful.
........ they have said that the damp reading will likely be over 10%.
It would read well over 10% just from my tears of disappointment.
