Firestick tethered to mobile.

Firestick works in our van using Hotspot from my Spanish phone...(Vodafone)

Will not work with Judith's phone also Spanish (Orange)

Both have very strong signals.....on my phone I can watch everything...on Judith's phone everything except anything that's a live broadcast....
Both phones have substantial data packages...need to share the usage....confused?

Some network plans don't allow tethering, especially the older contracts.
Do you both have the same phone?
Have you tried swapping sims?

Try tethering your phone to Judiths
That will prove if her contract permits tethering

Check the APN settings on your Wife's phone to make sure they are the ones for Orange and not generic settings and try again.

Judith can watch recordings but not live programs.

This must be to protect her from any #*!* that may occur on live tv, very sensible.

Everything works except life TV.... don't need a VPN in Spain to watch Spanish TV....her contract is new, rather get what we have than change contract.....Orange Spain allows tethering and hot spot usage....I got other things to try later...one tip in particular from Robert.....Thank to all who took time to reply...

I suspect that the Orange phone network is unable to cope with the speed required to cope with live tv programmes.

Our LG smart TV will not stream live ITV but is OK with BBC iplayer, I have tethered it to both our android phones and a mifi, same result.
Both phones will stream live ITV but not the telly and I can't cast to the telly because it's not an android smart TV.
