Just replaced our Fireangel SO-601 as it was end of life date with this

Yip, could have got one a pound or two cheaper but a straight replacement onto existing base plate.(y)
OK, I'm a lazy bu**er!

Unfortunately, the replacement CO alarm has a different base plate so going to have to do extensive re-engineering (two new 5/8" x 4 screws) to get it to fit!:Eeek:

I had a collection of 6 Fire Angel smoke detectors which had failed and were within their 10 year life guarantee. No receipts. I called them up and the CS person asked for photos of the back of them to see the date and batch number ... I was sent 3 replacements. 3 were rejected because 1 had s torn sticker on the back where I had tried to remove it to see if it was there was a screw to undo the case so I could give it a good clean, 1 had had the lable partly eaten by a slug and the third had some water damage on the lable (from where water from a plant had dripped into the bag it was kept in).

Suffice to say I've stopped buying Fire Angel alarms and I've not had any problems with the alternative company ones.

Hi do you remember the telephone number you rang I have sent two email’s no answer at all thanks Andy

Had our Fire Angel sounding a few weeks back, searched everywhere for any signs of smoke, burning etc, nothing. Went out and bought a cheaper standard 9v battery type to at least keep us safe until we got home...

Haven't had any further issues, even the fire angel has kept quiet.

I think mine had a little friend nesting around the sensor and didn't like being disturbed and moved one

I have fitted hundreds of smoke & Carbon monoxide alarms for work I always buy Aico, they make alarms with a 10 year Lithium battery ( Ei 650 ) and i have only had one fail. I have by request fitted Fireangel alarms but they frequently fail.

I've checked my emails.... I had 2 replaced out of 7. The failure rate of the ones I bought was very high.

My Fireangel was chirping this AM. Hike out battery only to discover spare battery was duff. The one that was in the alarm still read 9.21v on my multimeter. Ruddy thing!!!

The problem with many of them failing may be the cold over the winter. We remove anything we can from the van during it's winter lay-off that has batteries ie torches, remotes etc (y)

fire angel detectors are crap, had some fitted and replaced when they failed early. All 3 failed again within warranty so rather than risk it for the cost replaced with a different brand

Thrips, also known a thunder bugs can get inside smoke alarms and cause problems.

To reinforce the need for working smoke and co alarms we're hearing of a fatality in a campervan on a C&MC site that's being attributed to co from the heating system.
Make sure you've got them fitted and working?
