Apparently a camper van caught fire at Morrisons Doncaster whilst filling with gas, 1 person is in hospital.

Apologies, I must have found an older photo. It appears to be an American RV, so it may have been using LPG for motive use?
The pictures I see don't look like a RV, PVC more like.It appears to be an American RV, so it may have been using LPG for motive use?
Yes, see post #6The pictures I see don't look like a RV, PVC more like.
Probably locals torched it, rough area around there with some very dodgy charactersBloody hell that’s all I need, I hope they don’t pull the pumps out round here![]()
That was my thoughtsProbably cause Morrisons to pull the plug on lpg at thier forecourts.![]()
Gas fridge shouldn't light until 15 minutes passed to allow for fuelling etc.Last one was Morrisons at Wellingborough, caused by someone filling an exchange Calor type cylinder.
We get idiots at our pump with their gas fridges still lit, but then certain manufacturers actually put the LPG filler next to the fridge vent on some vans .
So many companies selling the kits and components to connect up pretty much anything,
it’s only a matter of time before someone is killed![]()
Not if you just leave it on gas whilst travelling, if the 12v system doesn’t work, as I’ve known some do.Gas fridge shouldn't light until 15 minutes passed to allow for fuelling etc.
Older fridges didn’t have that set upGas fridge shouldn't light until 15 minutes passed to allow for fuelling etc.
Along those lines, better staff training! As others have said, this shall only make it harder, they are bound to impose further restrictions at their sites. They obviously need to give better training to staff, sounds like the member of staff went into panic mode and lost all control. His first actions should have been to kill the pumps, call 999, then if possible evacuate the site. The eye witness in the report mentions damage to his car. If it were me the first thing I would have done is get my car and myself to safety.
Looking at google streetview + the details from https://www.mylpg.eu/stations/unite...oncaster-063AE4DE-81DB-0CE8-DDA5-AE676DCBECF9Judging by the drone footage video it looks like it's a low top home conversion ... I can't tell from that though whether it was near an LPG pump or not.
Would be interesting to read the official report about what was being filled and what the root cause was. Regrettably, that shall probably never be shared and blanket policies implemented.Along those lines, better staff training!
Why not actually have the staff inspect the vehicle first before switching the pump on to dispense the fuel.
Might save a few issues
That’s only on certain fridges , plenty of them just stay burning until manually switched off.Gas fridge shouldn't light until 15 minutes passed to allow for fuelling etc.
Technically that should happen but you couldn’t train forecourt staff to that level of competence to recognise anything not quite right .Along those lines, better staff training!

Especially those used as donors for self builds as they are usually older units from scrapper caravans. That’s only on certain fridges , plenty of them just stay burning until manually switched off.
That’s what I tried to say but someone put a popcorn sign up, I know a lady who forgot to switch hers off and burn all her hand/arm whilst putting lpg inThat’s only on certain fridges , plenty of them just stay burning until manually switched off.
They have done so before - https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...n-refilling-all-lpg-tanks-and-bottles.112393/Probably cause Morrisons to pull the plug on lpg at thier forecourts.![]()
