I'm a newbie
Has anybody come up with a neat way to fill the dreaded awning gap. My new to me moho has a Fiamma awning. A previous owner has filled it with Sikaflex, so it works, but a fairly deep channel remains. Cleaned the black gunk out once.

Dont think the Fiamma sealing strip will fit now, plus they are expensive.

I guess I could just use more Sikaflex to get the channel level, but it would take loads.
Any good ideas on permanently sealing it with a strip etc

Thanks

Good question and one I have been meaning to ask for a while. I shall be watching this. Sorry can’t help.

Omnistor Thule option is about £50 from memory, needs cleaning but so does the whole motorhome 🤔

I have noticed it does discolour and I swapped it when three years old, this is 2, might swap again rather than clean 👍

I’ve cleaned our out and tidied up the sealant so that water runs out without all the rubbish flagging up on it and starting a garden, then sprayed the whole length with silicone to help stop things sticking in there? Seems to be working so far?😊

I'd rather stick a nice strip of PVC on so that it can be easily cleaned than waste money on one of those again (not that I'd have bought one the first time! :giggle: ).

It’s just different, it’s not wrong MG 🤔

I also think it depends on what you are sticking it to 👍

Never said it was wrong ... but being a Yorkshire lass I would find a solution that was cheaper and didn't need to be replaced when it got mucky! :giggle:

Or, more importantly, who cares if it's mucky. Never seen by anyone under 10' tall
No but it gathers enough dirt to start a garden and then you get black streaks down the side of the van what a pain🙄😊
