Hi has anyone else read about later fiat emissions being fiddled like the VW fiasco, this has come from the Carthago club via Germany.?

Joe.

Well they did reckon they had cracked euro 6b without adblue,
To my knowledge the only engine manufacturer that claimed it did (unless I have missed others, Please feel free to correct me)
Now all the new euro 6d engines use adblue!

how does it affect your use of the vehicle? Surely you didn't buy it on the basis of how 'clean' it was ?

I said I wasn't going to buy anything that used adblue, my next van would be electric!
Anyway I pick up a brand new Auto Trail in March, with adblue

We checked the emissions of our Euro 6 motor after fitting a “ Tune It “ performance module ( adjustable 1 - 9 ) with our MOT set up.

Our 130 motor with the unit set at number 5 produces a remarkable increase in low down torque and overall power, unfortunately without any noticeable increase in mpg, expected though as I tend to use the extra “ go “, the Fiat’s computer reads 29.6mpg since new ( 9000 miles ). Our 13 reg Bolero 722FB ( 150 bhp ) Euro 5 with a previous model Tune It unit set the same, recorded 30.5 mpg over 6000 miles.

The emissions recorded were well within the MOT pass figures and when I dug out a copy of the Bolero’s emission figures from it’s MOT they were much the same as the Euro 6.

So if Fiat have been producing false emission figures to obtain the 6 classification in the past I’m not going to join the queue to sue them as I’ll be as guilty as them, my van is legal as it stands.
