I had a repair done on my Ducato air bag module earlier this year by crashdata systems and less than 1000 miles later ithas gone again..Crashdata have said it is a supply voltage problem and asked what i had done to prevent this after the initial repair.Has anyone any idea what they are on about, and how this can be prevented pleas?I cannot afford to be replacing this module every six months!

Have a got a slip of paper from them with really tiny writing on it

Had to have mine done twice by CrashData. Apparently some Ducatos were built with smaller capacity Engine batteries. I have since had a larger one fitted and so far...

Just wiggle the wires under your seat.
Our ambulance does it about every 1000 miles.
I have got it down to a fine art now, sometimes just kicking it with my heel will put it off.
Edit this is a Renault so might be different.

A couple of recommendations1 make sure the battery is not excessively low when you start the engine 2 When you turn the ignition on wait for the gauges to settle and most of the dash lights have gone out.

You need to check your starter battery,if it's in need of a replacement,IE not holding a charge. Usually the ECU is spiked at high voltages, and low voltages. Plus make sure you have no damp in the area of the ECU box.

Thank you for your replies. On both occasions the unit failed as i started the engine, but it wasn't first start up of the day.I dont recall any sticker on the unit after its first repair, but there may well have been. Its so frustrating thinking it can go again at any time.

2 very good suggestions. My threepenethworth having done a lot of reading and studied photos , before sending anywhere check surroundings for damp and or corrosion on connectors.. Dry out ecu in oven at 60 degree C max. check temperature not gas mk6 you don't want to be melting solder or plastic. Quite a number reset by crash data or others fail again quite rapidly, probably due to humidity and temporary shorts.
