I'm a newbie
Hi Funsters
I'm currently near Gretna and needing a new exhaust for my Fiat Ducato 2.8jtd. 2002. Can anyone advise me on where i could get one. At short notice. I don't suppose i can just turn up at a Kwik Fit or similar or can i?
I'm traveling around the coastline of Great Britain supporting my friend who is cycling, 5,000 miles, around the coastline of Great Britain for charity. We are on day 3 of our adventure. Heading to Stranraer tomorrow and Greenock the day after. If anyone knows where i can get one at short notice in the next couple of days in those areas, it would be really appreciated.

The last time I needed an exhaust for our coach build I phoned a couple of tyre and exhaust centres first. Suppling and fitting was not a problem but they couldn’t fit the van on there lifts due to hight problems. I found
a commercial tyre centre that could fit it on there lifts.

Kwik Fit are usually pretty good - but as bigwood says, often they cannot either get the van onto the lift or up high enough. Our local were happy to do tyres in their carpark but I doubt that they'd replace exhausts that way!

@longer May know somewhere?

Just noticed this post and you may have moved on already, but Gate's Tyres in Carlisle will make an exhaust system for you.

Coastal motorhomes would have them in stock, take a look at their website to see if available and then phone them. Very helpful guys and they’ll do next day delivery if you can arrange an address

Unfortunately we no longer have a Fiat garage in D&G, we do have a few tyre and exhaust centres though.

Id give Denton tyres a call first thing as they’re normally quite good. Also we have a few commercial garages here, Scania Heathhall industrial estate. We have one on Brownrigg loaning also but cat think of their name, if you need any assistance pm me.

Thank you for your replies. We managed to get fixed up at Gates Tyres in Carlisle. The 1st guy that had a look said. It needed a new front pipe and it would take about 5 hours to get it from the supplier. Then a Bulgarian guy took a look, after i told him our story about our charity event, he said give me an hour and I'll have you back on the road. He cut a piece out. Put on a stainless steel sleeve. Clamped it up and sent us on our way. Parts, labour and vat, just £30. Brilliant service. I can highly recommend them if you're in the area.
