someone will know this for sure.

I need to remove my Carrybike Pro C, I’ll just be storing it in the shed for when we eventually sell our van, we won’t use it. I checked the instructions on Fiamma website, I’ve removed the bolts from the two bottom bar fixings, and they pull straight out, just leaves the tops. I’ve removed the plastic covers which were quite stuck due to the black silicone gunk, and it seems they’re hooked over.... again the hooks may be sat in / partially glued by the black silicone. Here’s what I need to know :
The instruction shows installation by hooking in the top while the bottom would appear to be at a distance of about 18” from the van back wall, it appears to show the top tipped right in while the bottom is held away, once the top is in, the bottom is lowered into its bracket holes...... how do I get the top brackets out ? Obviously I have to pull the bottom bar out of its bracket, so it’s away by a couple of inches, but there appears resistance against me pulling the bottom out further, and I can see the actual fixing (the part screwed into the van wall) flexing, so, will the top just go straight upward with a gentle tap with a rubber mallet ? (Whilst the bottom bars remain just out of their bracket holes ? I’ll probably protect the back of the van in case the whole lot shoots upward and out.

Any advice much appreciated, probably super obvious when you’ve done it once, just don’t want to ruin anything ;)

sorted it, disassembled most of the rack, to leave as little as possible attached at the top, gave it a good amount of wiggling in the hope that would somehow free it up, then smacked hell out of it with a massive rubber mallet ! took some force, but both popped off, job done :)
