Hi, new to the forum but keen to find out if many people load two e bikes on a fiamma carri bike 2 . Approx weight is nearly 60kg without batteries but including locks etc. I don’t think we exceed 60.

60kg is a typical max.weight for Fiamma bike racks.
If you’re confident in the fixings & fitting of the rack it sounds OK to go to the max weight

For us, we always take the batteries off the bikes before loading them on to the bike rack. Two reasons, first, pointless stealing an electric bike without a battery, and second, reducing the weight of the bike makes it easier to load and unload them.
Also, I've stopped using a bike cover because, ( right or wrong),
the vortex caused by the cover puts a lot more strain on the rack and mountings.

Interesting point re covers, thanks.
I would indeed remove the batteries but I then have to consider the substantial D lock and cable I use to secure them. I would hope to see signs that the mountings or back wall were struggling before the whole lot fell off!

Just removed my rack built for three cycles.

having removed them and seen the size of the screws used I would not have been happy putting my sandwiches on it.

maybe newer motorhomes are bolted right through to a plate on the inside.
mine was not less than 2 inch screws two top two bottom each side.

Regularly carry two minus the batteries. Longest trip so far was mid Cornwall and back from Runcorn with no issues, our rack is secured with mate bolts and spreader plates inside the MoHo.

We fit our Fiamma bikerack ourselves and used extra large 200mm x 100mm, 3mm thick stainless spreaders on the inside. The lower ones in the garage and the uppers inside bedroom cabinets.

The rack is rated at 55kg.

We load our electric bikes, minus batteries, AND for weight and security, the seats and pillars. This reduces weight by about 8kg overall and take the weight down to slightly over the weight of two conventional bikes. Batteries plus seats are stowed inside the MH as far forward as possible. We have a bit of tape on the seat pillars to refit them to the correct height. The handlebars are turned through 90° and locked in that position so that the two bikes sit snugger towards the back of the MH.
