From memory @Jac Sprat might have used it. I've also met a couple who had just arrived in Genoa and they didn't have any complaints.

What do you need to know? We have done it in both directions.
Stick to the main road in Palermo and you will be ok.
Book a doggie cabin if required, they are only allowed in the cabin and on the upper deck.
Take your own food as the cafeterias on board we found were quite basic.
Because it's Italy it will leave about an hour late and we got off in Genoa 2 hours behind schedule.
Take a sense of humour for the motorway section out of Genoa. They are all frickin mad.

We are thinking about Sicily to Genoa on this trip.
Any advice on getting the best price? No dog this trip.
Thanks
