many many years! since I was a kid
Years ago you could get away with it, but not now. If anyone gets injured whilst using a retrofitted seatbelt, you personally are liable. any seatbelt would need a steel sub-frame inside the seat bolted to the chassis.

this subject comes up every couple of months, so a quick search will give you chapter and verse on the legal and safety issues

Insurance ony cvers you for the no of belts on the log book too.
