Hi

Just purchased a silver screen to both reduce internal condensation and help keep me warm at nights.

But often park where I need to display a parking permit or ticket.

Is it ok to display these on the side windows if the living area -probably not and doesn’t feel fair to make them hunt for the ticket?

Or tempted to cut a small hole and then use my old Singer to sew in a small plastic window. Would be a fun task but ...

(Before anyone asks then yes have already used my Singer 201 to sew thick insulated pads for the back windows so it’s up to it and having a drop foot it’s easy to sew free style.)

Could you glue a waterproof see through pocket onto outside of the screens ?

We used to put ours against one of the side windows when we used silver screens.

I have seen some people put parking tickets on the outside of their windscreens under wipers (no idea why) - my concern is them being pinched - especially my permit here for Devon. But could make a copy I suppose and put that in the slot and keep the orignal inside (of the permit that is) and simply photograph parking tickets as proof or purchase in case they went missing. So a welcome thought. Thanks Rob

I put mine in side window, that’s the only option really.

A couple of years ago we stopped overnight at Appledore car park, brought overnight motorhome ticket and put on dash. Latter put up silver screens and covered up ticket. Next morning looked out of window and there was a parking enforcement officer writing out a ticket:mad:. However when I showed the ticket I had purchased he stopped writing the fine. He then said that this happens quite often and he always looks in the side windows. We now carry a roll of masking tape to stick tickets to side window. Since then no problems and no fines.

We use one of these on the side window, seems to work OK, but our windows are really dark tint and it's a job to see. ? Bob.

We use this type in the window and move it to side window when screens are on.

I seem to be missing something here with folk saying to put tickets in side windows .....

.... As all the screen covers I've seen cover the complete cab area including the side windows!

side window of van body - not door window - unless on sliding PVC door.

I suppose if you don’t have any other side windows it would either be back or you’re stumped?

Yes they are waterproof don’t know about laying up as we never do we try and use the van as much as possible, but wouldn’t think it be any different to using it normally.?
