Seems some predictions have turned out right.
The demand for bookings appears to have crashed the Eurotunnel website.
Twitter feed says they “are working on it”.

Richard.

Yep, not working for me either🤷‍♂️

Tried loads of times today, online and phone, just to see what was available as wanted to change the booking I have for August. Needed to check as I had booked two single crossings rather than a return and didn't want to change the outward journey till I knew there was availability when I wanted to return. Finally got fed up and decided to see what happened if I went straight to edit booking. I got straight through and changed the outward, then changed the return, again on first attempt.

Where are you off to Robert?
Could it be somewhere with the midnight sun?

NMC enquiry of course. :giggle:

Richard.
We’ve re booked to go these next year Richard
This year we’ll be staying in the UK

It’s working this morning, as a Facebook group member wanted dates checking before they signed up for a frequent traveller account . I checked his dates 18/12 and it was all booked only available on the next day and only one time group left at a supplement of £42. I then checked dates on normal booking , not fq and all times where available but at £132.

I don't understand the dates you were looking at. I would read this as 18th December, but it won't be if he's looking to book frequent traveller. I opened my new account on Thursday and other than this weekend there didn't seem to be a problem. May be its changed since Boris announced the new normal...ish.

Yes 18 December , I was checking Using my frequent traveller and the only crossing bracket was between 3 pm and 5 pm at a supplement of £42

Booked a FT slot out and back for July just an hour ago and almost all times were available.
Got the days and times we wanted at the usual price of £12 extra per crossing.

And in other news, one cannot book a journey today using tesco vouchers because the human interface operative is not at his/her desk on a Sunday.
The office is closed.

Almost takes one back to the Pre Internet days when office hours were, er, office hours.

Flights have shot up too. My cousin booked flights from Venice for £9.99 this morning. This afternoon, the same flight was £80. I wanted to have a look at the tunnel prices, but couldn’t get on, and presumed it was high demand (booked ours last week in anticipation!)

I booked a FT outgoing Tunnel crossing yesterday morning, for early September. The site was very slow, and only offered one crossing during a two hour slot, before it locked me out, and I had to start again.
Next time I went in, (still slow) the same two hour slot on the same day, was now offering three crossings :whatthe: so we went for our usual 16.00 ish one.

Roll on September, whereupon I hope to be quaffing a nice Dornfelder, or sinking a cold Weissbier on the banks of the Mosel. Bring it on. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

There doesn’t appear to be any return slots available from Calais on a weekend for the whole of August if you have a frequent traveller account. Even those with the higher supplement seem to be take. Unless it’s a system glitch! I tried all weekend to amend our booking with varied success but still nothing on a weekend?

if the terminal building remains closed my guess is it’s going to be chaos!!

There are always a 12 supplement for a Motorhome but that slot also has the 30 high peak supplement along with daytime travel hence the 42 supplement but It is the first day the Schools break up so there is plenty of cheaper slots a day either side.
