So I’m going to load an eSIM into my compatible router suitable for Europe.
Any recommendations, are many of you using this option, is the signal ok etc.

Had a quick look at Holafly, they have some good unlimited deals. Any use them 🤔

Router options not phone.👍

Just be aware that the 'Unlimited' e-sims from Holafly, Airalo etc all seem to cap at 3gb per day. After that you barely get the ability to load an email. Effectively this means that they are only 90gb or so per month, and you can't choose when to use that allowance (you don't carry over unused data from one day to the next).

Suprising how quickly 3gb disappears!

I thought having a Europe wide e-sim would be a game changer for me - it wasn't. Ended up buying sim cards from Vodaphone in Spain and Orange in France to use in the physical sim slot which worked fine. Now seeking another solution to load e-sims (my router uses a phsical card onto which you can load e-sims).

I’ve just read that about Holafly.

That’s interesting about orange and Vodafone because their eSIM looks like a good deal for data only and no throttling on the data.

I did try the orange last year but couldn’t seem to load it for some reason.
My router lets me load eSIMs through a physical sim on a GLinet. Very impressed with its performance.

We used Holafly in Morocco, was excellent for about 7 days then stopped. We were informed that Holafly should not be used in Mifi units and that data is then severely limited not 1gb per day at a reduced speed, the reality was that it no longer worked at all, we did get a refund.

In Spain we used ByteSim 150Gb, worked very well.

The adapter was a 9ESIM V0 eSIM Card for Unlocked Android – SIM to eSIM Adapter, this worked well in our Netgear and teltonika units.

I used Roamic eSIM in my phone, they do country ones or a Europe one for a bit more money
