Just leafing through the Lakeland pamphlet that came in the paper over the weekend and saw Enzyme drain sticks....so my question is... do they work to sweeten the pipe work aroma? They also claim to unblock sinks as they dissolve but I realise that will take a while, up to 24hours... The forums thoughts please.....

We just stick a Bio(enzyme) capsule in water in the sink until it dissolves, very quick. Then let the water down the pipe to end up in the grey tank to work its magic there also.

I tried one of these, they blocked the sink

All I know that enzymes work great in septic tanks, fed every 2 months. We have a tri compartment eco septic that never been emptied since 2014. It’s two of us plus guests every 3-4 weeks over weekends. The drain field is quite spread on gravel with percolators well separated with membrane before soil.

I wouldn’t use them, imagine if they melted the pipe work as they dissolved.

I’d go with something that is safe to dissolve in the sink without damaging it and then pulling the plug.

I’ve just done this with citric acid for my grey tank as it was whiffing when I let it go on the motorway ;):reel: 🍿
