Hymer Ayres Rock
Anyone had major issues with engine management and egr valve on Ayres Rock

Welcome

What chassis is that on?
Then someone may be able to help

Do you have a problem with your EGR or are just just enquiring.

EGRs can sometimes be a pain in the bottom but most of the issues stem from driving style.

It was registered Dec 2017 2.3 multijet 130
Automatic it's done 16000 miles failed first mot
on emissions in December

The Fiat (Iveco) 2.3 engine is pretty good with EGR reliability. There used to be issues with the throttle body (which also controlled the EGR) in early x250 Ducatos, but that was mostly resolved a decade ago.

That may be so but I've spent the last 20 years driving delivery vans

If you don’t drive like an old fart, doing fuel consumption flow charts, you will be fine. Mine felt like it was restricted until I got a few miles of hard driving done in it.

Yes bought new most trips have been Scotland South Coast and France

What did it fail on please? We need to know the specifics so that we can work back the problem.

Cheers,

Andrew

If you have no issues with the dpf then likely it has had sufficient good speed and hot runs to regenerate so I would have expected the erg to be reasonably healthy.

The mot failure was in December you say, so it's either been laid up or you fixed it.

Assuming you fixed it Has it gone again for you to bring it up now.

It went again was replaced under parts warranty then went again now Fiat say it needs
New injectors low pressure egr valve 2 heat exchangers plus extras

Then tell them they should be paying for it as even under EU regulations anything is expected to last a minimum of 6 years & for stuff like that to be requiring replacement isn't on.

😲😲

I would be arguing that the problem existed prior to warranty running out.
Injectors, glow plugs and egr valves should be lasting considerably more than 16000 miles.
What have fiat said is the cause of this. If it was injectors then its been ongoing from day 1.

Sounds like they either don't know what's wrong. Or some issue is causing secondary problems... or both.
