Do you have a link to the article please ? as most are talking about scrapping the traffic light systems not stopping inbound testing.

What's the link to this, please, as I can't find it.
Thanks.

Agree with all of above. Its a pain jumping through the hoops first time as we found out on our recent trip to Spain via France. However, once done, one has a much better understanding of how to do it and it becomes so much easier. Totally agree about the testing rip off that's going on in the UK. The Government should have sorted that out long ago.

It will become common knowledge soon that the CDC are dropping the tests, as unreliable.
Goodness knows how few knew of Kerry Mullins view, he was the inventor and Noble prize winner.

Smoke mirrors and cash

My understanding is that the reason PCR tests are required is that the testing bodies are able to provide NHS England with Genome information (not available from Lateral Flow Tests). so they can identify any new variants entering the UK. However, this information is not being provided and as many as 150,000 test results per week are not being handed over. Add me to the few who have never heard of Kerry Mullins .

This is the relevant bit, I think…..

‘The government could scrap the traffic light system and replace it with a simplified approach that focuses on whether travellers are double jabbed in a bid to encourage more people to get vaccinated.

Ranking countries green or amber could end, although the red category is expected to stay for high-risk destinations for which 11 days of hotel quarantine is required.

Rules for fully vaccinated holidaymakers, who do not have to self-isolate after returning from green or amber countries, would likely remain the same.

Currently, they have to take two tests - one within 72 hours of travelling back to the UK and a second within two days of arriving home. The latter must be a PCR.

Non-vaccinated people currently enjoy the same rules as the double-jabbed when returning from green countries, but have to self-isolate at home for up to 10 days after coming back from amber destinations.’

There is an article in today’s Mail on page 22, saying that ‘Post holiday testing may be scrapped for the double-jabbed’

We can but hope!🤞

God, hope it's right.

For me it is the aggro of not only having to get tests for the wife & I bt now I would have to get the dog done as well. Usually I can get the dog done here foc & turn up to Dunkirk within the period for his entry. having to muck about with tests for me turns the whole lot in to a shambles.

Here's hoping so 🙏

Cost us over £200 to get back into the country this week. 😡😡
Plus €213.40 for the parking fine at Santander because of the incompetent arseholes at the clinic. 😡😡😡

We need a test for a 10pm Monday crossing from santander. Thinking of the cheaper antigen test and getting it done in the morning at the clinic in santander. Can I ask which clinic you used and what the problem was? Thanks

Kerry Mullins was the Nobel prize winner who invented the PCR test.

Link to Kerry Mullins interview.
Who is fooling who.

I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for return tests to be abolished even if the Daily Mail thinks they will be.
My impression is that ministers would like to stop them but the medics are kicking up a fuss.
There is due to be an announcement soon but the feeling is that the need for more expensive PCR tests will be reduced to cheaper lateral flow.
Change to take place in time for half term ie. towards the end of October.

Richard.

We used Medicantabria, very disoganised in that we turned up 5 minutes early and had to join a large queue. It was 55 minutes before we got our test, which only took 2 minutes to do. The woman at the desk was useless.
