How do you refix a toll tag to the windscreen . Our new A class doesnt have the black speckled area it asks you to fit it to, that my old coachbuilt had . Also where on the windscreen does it go .

You can order a new backplate from your account page on their website
Simply mount the tag towards the top of the windscreen.

Get a couple of the brackets. It’s worth it I have one in the motorhome and another in the car

My bracket broke

Just leave it on the dash - at a push pick it up and wave it around like a demented fool..

Seriously sometimes you have to move right up to the barrier for it to work....

Ok thanks will it just stick to the glass or does it need the black speckled area .

We just leave it in one of the ducato dash top recesses. Works ok there.

Probably the reason they say behind the black dots is they afford it some protection from full sunlight.
Also they are basing instructions based on a car windscreen which is lower than a Motorhome windscreen.

I tend to find that the barrier won't lift unless I wave the toll Tag around. Must look silly on the CCTV but hey ho I'm just another stupid GiBi to them.

I think it's so theres no suggestion of it being in your sight while driving. In theory most people's dashcams are fixed illegally and an awful lot of satnavs.

Hi with the over hang of our coach built, ours did not work at top of the windscreen so moved ours on to the dash in the middle with bluetak works no problem

Many windscreens are coated with an athermic later which can interrupt tag and satnavs transmissions. The black dots around the mirrors of many vehicles do not have the layer so no interruption !

We have two tags, one for France and the other for Portugal and Spain. Both use the same fitting. So we have one at the top and one at the bottom. We now usually use the bottom one for both tags because it seems to open the barrier as it is closer to the front.
