Egine and gere box need to come out

Looks like I am going to have to pop the engine and gere box out lost the gears
Looks like a selector pin has come adrift
On the gear lever that go's on the change shaft thingymabob
Shuld take abut a day to do

Sorry to hear that . Can the box not be removed alone ? & you take it easy as you shoudln't be doing too much .
 
I would have thought that by now you would just whistled and it would "pop itself out" Bill.

Used to have a mate with a Hillman imp and we had it down to less than 15 minutes for the engine out, me underneath and him up top (Ooo Err Mrs).

I could take the box out but I still have to disconnect the drive shafts and botum engine mounts with it being a 2.8 conversion it's very tight just as easy to take the engine out and do timing belt clutch filter change small oil leek and sort out a few wiring problems
I can the modifications to the exust as well while I am at it
Got a week of good weather thermal overalls right next to my garage I spent a week tiding up before I went in to Hospital
Will take about week of doing sumthing oily
Don't worry I will take it easy

Fastest is 45min on my own but will have to take it easy so it looks like 46min

We had a 3 point cradle for the engine, a big jubilee clip around the Doughnut joint from memory and then I guess we pushed the car away but it was a long time ago.

I used to take the engine out of my mother in laws Hillman imp on my own and do the biz.in about an hour and just pushed the car forward ,Nowadays I don't know what I'm looking at in the engine bay :eek:
