Basically as the title suggests , I am having problems with my Peugeot ebike and can’t seem to find any one in Lancashire that do e bike repairs ,I know it’s a long shot but does any one know of any where in Lancashire that does ? Thanks

I have a good guy locally but no use to you, google cycle repairs in your area, most of the traditional bike service engineers are getting ebike literate. My guy now has Bosch accreditation and does firmware updates etc. 5 years ago he didn't touch them.

Have you tried ‘On yer bike cycles’ - they have a branch on Caton Road Lancaster. Not used them myself but have heard good things.

Thanks everyone , I wil give them all a ring on Monday . A few can can look at Bosch powered bikes but my French bike has something called a “8fun” motor that no one knows any about . Hopefully one of the above will be able to help 👍

8fun....I claim to know nothing about this motor.... I've been into eBikes for quite some time....By any chance did you start having problems post Brexit? Just a light hearted comment to help you on your way to getting it sorted.....and your problem is?

The bike shows half power on the dash after about 500 yards and the motor seems nowhere as powerful as it was and is very slow to kick in. Now I tried another battery and another similar motor from my wife’s bike on mine although the battery didn’t go show half power the motor was not kicking in soon enough and was a bit gut less ,it’s all a bit of a mystery to me 🤷‍♂️

Strange..cannot offer anything other than a service to see if anything could be achieved from this......

On yur bike Burnley also do ebike service work.
As above I'd get the battery checked, or at least swop it out for a known good one.

The 8fun motor is one of Bafung's offerings. They're usually ok, but a replacement motor is only £99 if the worst comes to happen ?

That’s handy to know , but I am not sure it’s the motor as I have tried another one and the problem was still there . I think it’s a job for an expert if I can find one but thanks anyway 👍

Thinking about it, my last service on one of our Bosch engined bikes was about that so my consumable comment written tongue in cheek has some merit.

Howard H did you ever get the bike sorted?
Hello WESTY66 , no sent it to one of the recommended e bike dealers and they did not even try to fix it just said they couldn’t. Then sent it to another e bike who said he had fixed it but when I got it back it was no better . So am at a bit of a loss what to do next really. It a £1800 pile of junk in my garage at the moment 🤷‍♂️

Just a quick follow up on the problem , I sold the bike for spares or repair and the engineer who bought it has sent me pictures of the damage he found. It’s a mess but means nothing to me but might to you electricians. I have no idea what might have caused it .

We have the same, but bought ours second hand from someone on here, popped up to flog a pile of sh1te never to be seen again. Luckily only a few hundred quid wasted, bought for Caz but never worked. Kalkhoff Agattu.

i wouldn't have another ebike given, bought 2 old bikes from the tip a fiver each, 1980s and 90s models, work a treat. Long live Sturmey Archer hubs☺
