I have put my Motorhome on eBay to sell it, as I am nearing completion on a Sprinter conversion, (My second, we find it easier to wild camp in something less conspicuous)

The page has been viewed more than 1700 times in 48hrs, which obviously shows considerable interest in motorhomes in these difficlut times, the curious thing is, there are 72 'watchers', I can understand putting an item on your watch list if it's an auction you want to keep your eye on and perhaps bid for, but this is a fixed price sale, you either want to buy it or you don't, all you are going to see is the item disappearing when someone buys it, anyone got any ideas.

Many will be tyre-kickers but some will probably be more serious lookers who are refining their choices. Good luck selling!

I’ve sometimes watched vans in the past for layout or other ideas. after all, you can watch and unwatch for free, without any interest in actually buying. Just to be clear, I wouldn’t go and see the van in person though, that would be time wasting, but I bet some people would! It’s some people’s hobby to go and look at stuff without wanting to buy them.

Fingers crossed some of them are seriously interested.

We had the same when we sold ours ( it sold in two days) we had over 100 watchers

When you watch an item you get notifications as it nears the end and what it ultimately sells for, rather than the listing just disappearing, if it is not watched

I reckon that ten watchers = one bidder ;)

I use the watch feature before I advertise anything on eBay so I can judge the likely price I can reasonably put the item up for. Although this is with lower price items, it is good to get an idea before jumping in.

All good reasons, thanks. To be honest, I also watch stuff with no intention of buying, I suppose it's research.

I've had a few ask questions, all of them sensible, things I'd forgotten to mention.

I also treat it a bit like favouriting - I collect all the things that appeal to me and then choose between them.

A lot use the watch facility when looking for a van and can compare those on the short list.

Hey i have a feeling i mightbe watching your van ..... if its a bessacarr, mines purely research i asked about bessacarrs on here and like them, butnot quite ready to buy yet , very good luck selling ,from pampam

Thats a good bit of interest. Best of luck (y)

You are thinking too much , if it’s the right van at the right price IT WILL SELL , just let it do it’s thing
just ignore all the stupid questions & offers ,bear in mind most of the U.K. is still in lockdown
good luck

My ebay watch list currently has 63 items on it.

Im in Greece for another 4 months lol ...cant buy any of them if not in the country.
Some ive no desire to buy but find interesting, others ill buy when im home , some i just like to compare to others and watch which sells quicker.
Ive a few motorhome and campers on watch as i plan to change mine when i return so its different models and layouts I'm considering. ...

Id not overly concern myself with how many views your listing has had or how many watching as its completely irrelevant.

You only need one buyer and im willing to guess that most of those viewed or watching it are window shopping only.

Its better than getting lots of questions etc and no one buying.

A few will also be waiting on the price being lowered

When I have watched stuff, I sometimes get an offer from the seller. If you have wiggle room, maybe contact the watchers with your own special offer??

I am getting fed up with Ebay - this week had two bidders withdraw their bids - excuses are

"Cuz someone bought it me" - he bid at midnight and pulled it 20 minutes later

The other bidder said they entered the wrong amount - they bid £10 - the bids started at £10 ...doh

Rant over

Had some dummy bidding and winning an iPhone X I put up, messages me and says “I ain’t paying that”!!
So notify eBay saying he is a time waster then have to wait for them to resolve it before I could list it again😡

Plenty of idiots on there...

Hi Pam Pam, yes it is a Bessacarr, it now has sold on it.

The market is very bouyant, over 2700 views, it gets picked up on Saturday, that will spur me on to get my self build finished, I hate the idea of not having a van we can go away in at a moments notice, (even if we can't)

Have to say, credit where it's due, Magnums, Jacksons and CAK have all been excellent, I've been ordering loads of stuff over the last few months and they haven't missed a beat.
