Driving license renewal with D2 D4 forms etc submitted to DVLA and signed for by them on 19th February.
D4D Medical easy and straight forward cost £55.
Lets see how many weeks to get my license back in my wallet ? Should run a sweep !

DT. Sent mine 2nd November they received 3rd November. STILL WAITING. Think they still got hundreds away on sic leave. Keep checking on there Web site every week no change. Also emailed .

Mine sent July, still waiting for the medical bit to be approved. In the meantime have downsized to low profile coachbuilt 3500kg MGW. I dont want this repeated every 3 years.

If you have had medical issues in the past it could take a long time.
If no medical issues reported it should be a couple of weeks only.

Good luck, you certainly need it.

I am glad I am not reliant on DVLA anymore as I now have Polish licences for MH and self.

Although by accident I also have a UK driving licence, because it was due to expire before I had a Polish one, so I duly applied for renewal. I got my Polish licence and surrendered my, then expired, UK licence to the Polish authorities. A few days later a new UK licence arrived. Nobody has asked me to surrender the new UK licence.

Her one goes down to the local office in town to do all licensing, so at least one can eye-ball across the desk and sort out any queries on the spot.

I sent mine on 24th November for C1 renewal. I haven’t heard anything at all rom them yet.

Waiting for my three year renewed licence.10th March.
Doubtful it will come through in time.
Have decision on Glaucoma to be settled.
But what happens about insurance cover as I suppose technically I won't have a valid licence..

Best of luck - you may need to send an updated photo I reckon!

Chacked with Southlands Eye Hospital as when I might get a follow up appointment.Supposed be 4 months from August.
Got reply saying it would be a bit delayed.
Just doing follow ups for December 2020.
Has anyone tried this Section 88 DVLA criteria which allows you to continue driving if you are still waiting to receive your renewed licence?
As far as I can understand them ( with great difficulty) it seems to throw the onus on you.

The way I believe it works on sec88 is that if you have an application in to renew to DVLA and they or your doctor have not told you to stop driving then you can still drive under sec 88.

Happy to be told otherwise.

I suppose you mean Dec 2021?

You can check with your doctor to say that they see no reason why you should not drive; that should go on your record.

An update on DVLA over 70 years renewal. License back today all in order. Posted 19th February and during that period between then and now the application form was returned to me as I had missed one cross in a box. So given my stupid error is was just over four weeks so cannot complain about that.

Not to do with license but change from 3.5t to 3.7t
DVLA website said 4wks. Sent all paperwork off 4wks ago.
On the check my vehicle details today the V5 has been updated so expect a new V5 tomorrow or Wednesday through the post. Result 👍

There are more than a few threads running on this one and:

NOTE you have to send your D2 & D4 forms to the correct postcode for medical assessment. NOT general dvla one. ALSO for any one checking YOU CANNOT GET A C1 RENEWAL at 70+ ONLINE if you you renew on line you are limited to 3,500Kg.

If you have NO medical issues, ETAL got mine back in 7 days from posting to receiving.

If unfortunately you have something to declare then remember if applied you can drive in UK until renewed or refused;

BUT can't drive outside the UK until you have had your licence renewed.

Suggest a search of the subject and an hour or two to digest.
