Leaving tomorrow and looking for a site, we want easy access to a town centre, can be aire or site, Germany or closer to UK can't be in environmental zone we only have yellow sticker.
Any thoughts chaps.

Would be very interested in members advice as thinking of going there next year

80 miles south on the Rhine, Andernach is a nice town, big Stellaplatz by the river. Only a few minutes walk to town centre. Restaurants cheaper than on the Mosel & food better. Largest cold water Gyser in the world.

Have a look at this thread.

Thanks Lenny but we ain't going anywhere, they have just infilled our row with cars, I can't get out.

Thats rediculas, i take you will be having a big argument about payment for the day.

I will just go over and explain the situ, I can't see them getting funny over it. No need for a big argument I am on holiday, stay till Monday if they do the same tomorrow. ::bigsmile:

OK if you have the time, we had to be back home on the day we left.

Done the same to us but they filled the row with more motorhomes so couldn't get out lucky we were on the last row so drove up the side and removed the barriers to escape

Hi Lenny Roseandpeter went to Andernach and by all accounts it was rammed, we are now at Winningen on the Mosel and there is a wine fest with music stage finishing Sunday with fireworks, only problem is the rain ☔

Are you in the campsite Martin and is there room for a little one? Wife loves fireworks.
Pissing down here.

Which sticker is this Olley?
I just got my Crit-Air sticker for my Euro6 and it's yellow (although Wikipedia said it should be purple). IIRC Germany has a similar scheme - are the colours harmonised in the EU?

Germany had red, yellow and green, most cities in the envio scheme now only accept green so we can't go in many of the towns and cities.
That scheme was for particulates but they now have another which covers nox.

Dry back in the UK only problem is I'm getting dragged around the RHS Wisley flower show.
Rather be at home sorting out the van before our next trip in a week's time.

EXCUSE ME !!!!
What's all this about rain ??
Am I leaving dry Staffordshire tomorrow for a poor climate :crying:
Boots packed.

It's absolutely heaving here in Dusseldorf, streets are rammed around the marketplace, it seems everyone and their dog is out drinking and eating.

If you are into something lively look at Bad Durkheim's wine fest
We have been here this weekend
We have been on the Knaus camp site which was very busy Saturday night but much quieter tonight
Festival is huge mega fun fair, wine tents food stalls etc
We hadn't really planned to visit and kind of stumbled on it.
Wasn't on our hit list but fun experience
Heading towards Alps tomorrow

Thanks just had cracking night at winningen, fireworks were phenomenal, great band friendly people, we thought Dusseldorf nightlife was good but this was better. Wife's decided she loves Germany. :D
Thanks Martin.

Ian

Went for shower at the winningen campsite this morning noticed little payment machines outside each shower, thought that's ok I have euros, so strip off open the door and euro doesn't fit, put me glasses on and you need a token.

Thought sod it and had a cold shower. :Eeek::cold::cold:

I had a mucking great big shower in My Winne? And 10 gal of Hot water!. I`d have been back in the R-V showering!!(y) Not shivering in some German Torture bloc!. Beside you have to be careful of German camp shower blocks. (So grandad said).

Winnebago convenently put a hanging rail in the shower Pete so that's now full of her clothes.
To be honest I prefer site showers it takes me half an hour after using ours to clean it to her satisfaction.

to clean it to her satisfaction.

(y):D I have to "argue" with Washing before I can shower too often. And that`s at Home!!! In the Rapido we have this little circular shower, and every time I get in it, I can`t help saying to myself "Beam me up Scotty"!!

One of our favourite restaurants in Dusseldorf in The Old Town is The Fischhaus - we will be there to eat and enjoy the Christmas market late November ?

Been trying to get the wife interested in Xmas markets but she hates Xmas.
