Just gone to lower the drivers window on
Ducato X250 and nothing.
I can hear what sounds like a relay clicking inside the door but no movement.
Never had any problems previously.
Passenger window working fine.
Any pointers before I go delving in?

There was a thread a while back from someone who had the same problem but it died in the down position abroad. Can't remember who it was though? sure it was motor in the end ? Not that this helps you but someone else might remember who it was & the thread.

We had that once, window was a bit sticky and tripped the current limit, after helping it down by hand then squirting lots of PTFE spray down the runners, all solved. Squirted the other side too of course.

Ours was jammed up with tree sap and other stuff.
Good clean and spray then attached one of the heavy duty vacuum pullers (where you put the sucker on to the glass then flick the arms over to lock) to the glass and give the motor a helping tug to get it started.

Thanks for the tip.
The window did move s couple of mm before it stopped.
Do you have to do anything to reset the current limiters?

Thanks again.

Not as far as I know, you can hear the relay click every time can't you ?

I'm sure I have seen somewhere that there is a calibration routine for the cut out but it was a good while ago and I've no idea right now.

Thanks for the reply. I did have search and saw a couple of threads but nothing offering any solution.

Cheers

Cheers. I will give that a go and report back.
Hopefully a simple fix.

We had a similar problem on our Bessacarr, I removed the door hardboard internal panel, there were 4 or 5 bolts holding the window mechanism in place. I slacked the bolts a bit, then run the window up and down a few times and tightened the bolts up slowly checking the window was still working, never had the problem again.
Cheers

You can help the window using the palm of each hand either side of the glass and push down while your third hand (assistant) operates the switch.
Once it starts moving they generally continue so stop before you get to the very bottom just incase it sticks down.
Silicon/ptfe spray in the runners should free it up.

Don't do what a friend of mine did when his window stuck in the down position. There was about 6mm of glass showing above the door rubber, so he gripped it with a pair of pliers, the complete window instantly shattered into a gizzilion pieces inside the door skin !

many many years! since I was a kid
you often find if a window has not been used for a while the glass starts to stick to the rubber seals.
