Please can somebody help? I’m only a month into owning my motorhome. The dual camera came with no instructions. I realise that the default in reverse is for the camera to look down but I need my view to be lifted slightly so I can see more clearly what is behind. The camera appears to be fixed and I can’t switch between the two views whilst in reverse. I hope this makes sense.

How can I adjust the rear camera up a bit from the floor?

Thanks for your advice in advance

In my accordo 120 the centre circle of the assembly that the dual camera is fixed to contains a downward looking camera in an adjustable bracket. I'm not quite seeing that fitting from your photo. Is your MH factory fresh? I'm thinking that otherwise the dual camera may have been added by a previous owner. There was a batch of rear cameras fitted by Elddis that went faulty due to water ingress (it happened to me). Possibly the previous owner (if it's not a factory fit) added a system of their own.

In respect of the hand book (for the original Elddis camera) it is simply an explanatory leaflet but is for a single lens, rearward looking (view does not change when reverse is engaged) system.

Why can't you switch between the 2 views? I'm not sure the particular set up but have you a photo of the monitor or whatever supplies the image?

If you need to reposition the actual lenses it should just be a case of using an Alan key to remove the 2 lenses from the bracket and then you can rotate them around to find the perfect view.

Better job with 2 people. 1 inside to check the image and the other repositioning lens.

I did mine myself and was up and down like a yoyo moving it and checking picture on monitor.

Similar advice as monzer, but with my dual lenses I just loosen screw on the same side as the lens that I wish to alter and re-tighten afterwards. On my viewing monitor I just need to touch a button to change from one lens to another.

If its a good genuine Twin Lens Camera, one should be looking almost straight downwards so you can see how far to reverse before hitting something, this happens when you select reverse, the second lens should switch automatically to give a longer rear view when selecting a forward gear.
Even if the auto select function is not available, can you not scroll for both views on the LCD display?
If it has been wired for single lens only, you may have a problem and need to install a new cable between Cameras and display with more wires to switch between both lenses

So no matter what view you select, it shows the straight down view as soon as you select reverse?

As before, you can rotate the lenses but it could be that one is a wide angle lens so may give you distorted view. You'll just have to suck it and see.

Looking at your picture it appears that there are adjustment screws on each camera? Just loosen the left ones and set it where you want it.
Edit to say if they are fixed then swopping the camera cables is the only easier option

Yes thank you I’ve had a screwdriver on it thinking that if I loosened the screw the camera would adjust but it didn’t. It’s a pain that you can flick between the two cameras except in reverse (which to me would be very helpful ) hmmm

You need to take both lenses out of the bracket before adjusting. They have little pins and dimples that slot in to each other so you can't just try and twist it up or down.

Undo the screws, remove both lenses and they come apart. Position them as you wish and refit and tighten.

When I fitted our twin rear camera system I deliberately wired it so it would not come on when I selected reverse so I could manually choose which camera I viewed and could change the view while in reverse.

An auto electrician can easily sort this for you by removing the power feed from the reversing switch feed for the camera that comes on when in reverse and sourcing a power feed for that camera from an ignition switched feed.

Did not connect the reverse switch wire on mine so can just choose which view when in reverse, if you disconnect the reverse switch wire you should be able to select which ever camera you want

That’s very helpful thank you

We have a Hymer with twin camera and had similar problem I rewired the switch to enable both to be used in reverse 😊
