Driving licence renewal

So today I dutifully took all my documents to work for my DBS renewal. Fortunately my eagled eyed admin noticed that my driving licence had run out on the 1st of June. I quickly renewed online at the cost of £14. I then googled it and realised that I should have had reminder recently…….nope, nada, nil. Check your licences folks.

Did ours 70 year renewal on line up to 90 days in advance on line arrived in 5 days.

Did mine 3 weeks ago and it was on line as updated within 3 days of posting in medical forms and the old licence .the new card should be at home waiting for me.

Mine is up for renewal in September at age 70. I currently have my original paper licence so can anyone please tell me if I can renew online when I will have to send a photo, or does that have to be done by post??

I think you can do it on line if you have a valid passport as they use that photo.
If you are keeping your C1 you have to do it by post.

Thanks Lenny HB - I haven’t had a passport for years; I don’t have C1 (only got VW T5), but I guess I’ll have to do it by post which is PITA!!

Did my last renewal four years after it expired.
Mentioned it to Mrs miserable git at the local post office when I went for a postal order.
Oh, that was it ...she was ringing the police to report me.
Told her to crack on, she had no details about me but she insisted she was going to anyway.

We had our medicals yesterday and I posted the paperwork straight away. One is due in July the other in September, I thought that if we did them both at the same time then there is a chance of at least one of us being legal before we go away. I don't think it was necessary but I've sent a cheque and photo with each, just in case.
