I'm a newbie
I would like to reposition the drivers seat to give more leg room in my Elnagh coachbuilt.
I consider myself of average height (6ft 0ins or near as) but I have a new metal knee which kicks off if its bunched up for longer than half an hour.
From all intents and purposes it looks like the job could be done as there is ample room behind the seat to move it back 4ins
Has anyone carried out a similar operation or is there some unwritten law stating you must not do it?

As long as you replicate mounting size & fasteners (sorry-a bit obvious) you'll have no issues. The only check is by MoT for seat security. Cruise control helps me when cramp strikes - it allows you to move your foot around on long motorway stints.

Set it on cruise then feet on dash :)

Hi.
Cut some sticks to size and jam and adjust them under the dashboard onto the pedal.ie. One for 30+ mph.one for 50+.one for 70+. If you need to stop sharpish, kick stick off and brake, its that simple..
This has been made more difficult because of todays volume of traffic, but it worked well in the 50/60's.Happy days.

one issue with moving the seat back 4 inches, the seatbelt will be to far forward. have you tried raising the seat base?

Before you alter anything sit in the cab and check what will be affected by moving the seat backwards, or upwards, eg the 'mud rails' raise the seat up so would this then mean you can't see out of the windscreen properly? Would pushing the seat back mean the seatbelt was unsafe? Would you be able to still reach the rest of the dash controls safely/comfortably?

Not knowing which leg it is, if its the left, would a hand clutch mean you could leave the leg extended as it wouldn't need to be over the pedal? If the right then you can get hand throttle and brake controls.
