Do any of you Funsters know where I could get hold of a control unit for our Fridge? Have had a mobile tech out to have a look at it and he has confirmed the the PCB needs to be replaced. He checked E-bay for us as he said it could be less expensive if we ordered the part ourselves but unfortunately I can only find the right hand version and ours is definitely a left hand version.

Don't know if this may help with the part numbers you can then search on?

Thanks Gellyneck, ours is a RMD8555 (fridge/freezer) so couldn't find the part we need.

Think I will give Dometic a call to see if they can help.

If he was a real Dometic authorised repairer he would get parts at trade price far below Ebay prices

Hi Terry, thanks for your help but this one is not the AES that we need. Back to the drawing board.

I have phone Dometic and they put you through to their approved supplier. They can get the part but it has to come from Germany which could take another two weeks!

We had a similar problem and found a supplier on Ebay from Nottingham, we had it delivered next day when Dometic were out of stock. I'll see if I can find the purchase on my account. Have you taken off the PCB and got the serial number from the top of the fridge? Usually has a sticker with info on it. Couldn't the mobile tech guy have given you the part number?

Can I suggest that if the buttons are in the same order as pictured? then you can just swap the circuit board from this piece of plastic to your existing

It's only 4 screws

It would be dreadful if he was wrong though and it was the PCB that this connects to at the back of the fridge at fault

Worth trying some German dealers prices often better over there.

Great thinking Andy, the buttons are in the exact same position. Just checked on the old PC unit and the board comes out with four small screws so should be easy to fit the new one in to the existing fascia.

Thanks for your help.

I replaced ours about 18 months ago using a part from ebay seller

Just checked and he has one that may be the one you want...

You must check the part no. on the one you want to replace.

The number to look for is here...

When you have your part number, .... search Google for "Dometic PCB RMD8555" and when the results come up, select the images tab.
This will give you all the images relating to that part from the web throughout the world. When you see one similar, open up the site that has the image displayed and check the part no. price, delivery etc.
The first one I have found is in Italy....

But remember to check the part number on yours first.

I replaced my own by taking lots of photos first, drawing a schematic diagram with all the wire colours & numbers and the corresponding port numbers. I switched off my 12v & 240v systems first.

Good Luck.

Barry

Edit.. now I have posted this I've realised that it may be the fascia control unit you want to replace... Sorry.

Thanks to all who have helped out here today, I knew I could rely on the Funsters to come up with a solution!

I have managed to source a new control panel from P.J. Leisure in Nottingham which is being shipped today, yipeee.

Thought I would give an update on the saga with the fridge. New control panel received and fitted yesterday and fridge is now in full working order. Apart from being £237 poorer am very happy with the result. Once again thanks for your help.
