Hi, My Dometic fridge has developed a structural problem!! The door is protruding too far to the left and when pushing to close the door it hits the frame of the fridge What has caused this is a mystery because it has not been maltreated in any way but suddenly became misaligned The door can be closed in the normal way by pulling the door to the right just as it closes, toward the hinge which seems to have dropped My question is how to put the hinge into correct position?

Any thoughts gratefully received

Thanks

Hinges on some models had nylon inserts, which could have broken up, suggest that you remove the door and check. other than that i cannot help more,
Joe

Thanks for reply Joe, how do you go about taking the door off?

If you open the door you should see some screws holding the door on, will have a look at ours in morning and confirm with pics if possible, Joe

Thanks again Joe, you will make my wife very happy (y)

Y Dometic fridge door fell completely off due to overloading the door. There's a peg top and bottom held by screw's, pretty easy to take the door off. I filled the broken pivot hole's with Araldite and glued two large stainless repair washer's top and bottom. I redrilled the holes to the pivot pin size. Good luck

Thanks Joe and thanks to Stealaway
There are no screws at all on my Dometic All I can tell you is that the van is 5/6 years old, apart from that there are no other distinguishing marks or numbers at all HELP 😩

May help if you could say what model of fridge it is.

Hi, i have had a look at ours, and same here, screw on top of door which goes into a bush, and pin on bottom bracket which door drops onto, take screw out and door lifts slightly sideways and up,
Pic of your fridge may help.
Joe

If it's a Dometic fridge, the model number label will be inside the fridge compartment at the back...........behind all the stuff you have in it. 😁
Post some pictures of the door problem, a picture paints a thousand words as they say. 😉
