Hi,
Currently in Mojácar and my Dometic fridge has stopped working. It has been running on gas for the last 3 days with no problems.

This morning fridge not working. There is gas but the lighting mechanism not igniting.

The fridge dials are lite up but the thermostat button is showing minimum but I cannot turn it up.

I have been for a drive and not working on battery. Not in a position to try hook up yet.

Any ideas as to what might be the problem? Heading in the direction of Almería and then onto Malaga. Any recommendations regarding a good motorhome workshop if I cant

I hope you can help.

Thanks

Try switching the whole thing off, even if that means isolating the hab battery leave it for 20 mins then switch everything back on, that should clear the problems.
Good luck.

If it is not working on gas & 12v, have you checked to see if there is a 12v supply to control circuit, it will be a permanent feed probably from a 2 amp fuse.

There is a live feed to the 12v.

It appears that there is 12v live feed to what I can assume is the temp gauge which is only showing minimum and I cannot a just to maximum. There is no feed back to the grey box (heat etc control box). Looks like the thermostat switch could be playing up.

I have disconnected fridge briefly and reconnected but no luck. I will now try it for 20 mins and reconnect.

Thanks for advice both

Left it for an hour and reconnected 12v but no luck unfortunately.

We are going to defrost fridge and disconnect the 12v and try again.

Any recommendations regarding a local repair workshop/person near Mojacar?

Thanks

there is a large fuse sitting at the positive terminal in the battery compartment ( cab battery ) worth a look.

There is a short thin connecting piece between the thermostat knob and the rotary control on the circuit board. If someone is a bit heavy-handed or even just a bit enthusiastic it is easy to break this connecting piece.

If I remember correctly, the knobs simply pull off, and you can access the screws to remove the panel.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the info. I tried to ring them today with no luck. They are pinned on google maps and I will drop by their workshop on Monday.
Many Thanks

Thank you for this information. I will take a look at this. I pulled out the thermostat knob to day to check for breakages and all was in order. Will venture further with this

Run your model number in here, there are Manuals for Most if not all the Range.

I have reset the fridge and been fiddling with the thermostat. It has also been defrosted

Guess what? Bloody Dometic only reset itself and is working again. Why? I do not have a clue.

Thank you all for your help. It is really much appreciated. You are a great bunch.

Cheers Toady

You have a dodgy thermostat?. Your frig looks a lot like mine?. In which case I think the `stat can be swapped out by removing the Top Plinth?
