Just the time for my Dometic RM 7XX1 3 -way fridge to die on me! Any cool info would be greatly appreciated

What's died ? 12 volt, 240 volt or gas ?
Maybe all died, in which case probably beyond help.
Hope you got deep pockets

Not working at all, or just not getting cool enough?

They are renowned for not coping when it gets above ~35C in some installations. And it gets worse if the venting hasn't been cleaned in a long while. Make sure the vents are in the shade. Some people do 'the fan modification'.

Is it lit?

All 3 have failed to operate cooling and no fuse blown. Has anyone experience of removing the fridge and leaving it upside down for 48 hrs to free up gas flow? Probably only works on Australasian models.

If it's a 3-way, I think the only gas that's in it is the gas that gets burnt. There's no refrigerant like a compressor fridge. On 240v and 12v cab, it's purely thermo-electric I think???

So is it not coming on in any mode, or do the lights come on but it says warm?

I think Drexxer may have performed this manoeuvre in the past...

How long have you tested on 240 or Gas, and what are you using to provide readings?

Cheers

Is it level, ie less than about 5 degrees of tilt? These 3-way fridges stop working if they are left tilted for some time.

I've found that sometimes they don't restart if you simply make them level again. But driving around fixed the problem for me once.

For 3-way fridges I think the level thing only matters for gas, and it's pretty tolerant. It's 2-way fridges (that have a cycled refrigerant and a compressor) that care more about being level.

That all have refrigerant in them of some type or another.
Check the connections to all the power plugs in the lower outside vent we’re the burner is.

Ammonia in three way fridges I believe. Can usually tell when that fails as it smells like a farm . ?

Ammonia in three way fridges I believe.
Ammonia is the smelly bit, but there's water and hydrogen gas in there too. There's a good explanation in Wikipedia 'Absorption Refrigerator'.

The hydrogen circulates with the ammonia and water in the coolant pipes. Nothing to do with the LPG 'gas' flame which heats the pipes if gas is selected as the energy source.

As I said above, it's very sensitive to level, especially left to right level as you are facing the door. As a last resort before binning the thing, turn upside down and leave for 24 hours to sort out the liquid/gas mixture in the coolant pipes. Has been known to work.

Is anything working on it?
Is the burner lit?
Is there any water collecting on any of the electrics (bottom inside)?
Is the flue clean?
Is there a spiders web covering the piezo ignition?

Start searching the myriad threads on here for starters, there is often a simple fix, and if not THEN it gets expensive!o_O

There's a control board that switches between the 240V, 12V and gas. The 12V feed to that is separate from the 12V fridge power to the heater element. If the control board's not working then nothing works.

Try on either 240V or gas, whichever works, and feel if the heater is heating up. You can usually just remove the lower outside vent and feel the circulation pipes in the lower right-hand corner. The 240v element, 12v element and gas flame are all in the same area, heating the circulation pipes at the same point.

If it's getting hot but there's no cooling then it's a circulation problem. If it's not getting hot then it's an electrical problem.
